Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Workforce Business Partner, About the role: NHS Dumfries and Galloway have a staff population of 4627 staff with 42% of those working for the Acute Directorate. The role will be supporting a range of medical, clinical and non clinical managers and senior managers in often a high pressured environment. Working in this environment will need a resilient, credible, yet passionate and customer focused HR professional who has experience in leading and working collaboratively with strategic and operational service managers on the provision of specialist advice, support and training of employment law and its application. Areas of expertise will include leading on service redesign, change management, complex employee relations and national terms and conditions both AFC and Medical. Ideally we are looking for a candidate who has previous experience and understanding of working for a complex public sector or private organisation. We would be looking for someone who is approachable and can effectively network and forge relationships with a range of stakeholders across our health and social care partnerships and external agencies. The role will also require the ability to analyse and present management information so a good understanding of key performance indicators and metrics and how these can be used to improve people management is key. About the Team: This role will be one of four Senior Business Partners who work closely to ensure consistency across the service. The HR advisor team is made up of three advisors, two assistant advisors and 2 admin/support staff that support the whole board with generalist advice and support in ER cases. Due to the complexity and size of the acute directorate this role will also have the additional support of a Senior Hr Advisor. The team are all based together at Mountainhall Treatment Centre that has excellent free parking facilities. The role, however will involve spending a lot of time working at the region's main hospital, Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary (DGRI), with occasional meetings at our community Hospital in Stranraer What will you receive? Support: * Time to getting fully acquainted and forge partnerships and relationships with the various stakeholders across the system but primarily with the acute management team. * Consistent 1:1 support with the Head of HR Services. * Weekly senior workforce team meeting and catch ups with the advisor teams. Health & Wellbeing: * We encourage Workforce to lead by example and work at least 2 days from home during the COVID pandemic and work via TEAMS to keep in touch. * When working in the office we are trying to keep to no more than 2 people in large offices and 1 in small throughout the day to promote safe working conditions and meet with social distancing guidance. Socialisation: * We encourage our Workforce teams to engage in weekly Lunch-time/break-time meets (currently over TEAMS) * We plan regular nights out as a team and encourage the teams to get involved in the organisations annual balls.
