Job Description

The Opportunity As a Project Portfolio Manager (PPM) working for our Central Technical Organisation (CTO), you will lead the delivery of a 5 year investment plan for the Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station. Reporting directly to the regional Operations Manager and with a dotted line to the Station Director, the PPM will have overarching responsibility for successfully delivering a variety of projects within the investment portfolio comprising an annualised budget of circa 50m, a team of up to 90 people and a diverse stakeholder group. Principal accountabilities: * Initiating detailed individual project plans and a 'master' plan for entire project portfolio. * Supporting and leading an effective team, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and SQEP status through regular 1-2-1's, appraisals and PDP activity. * Maintain 'oversight' of all projects through consistent monitoring of project plans, change management, safety, quality, costs and risks. * Acting quickly to lead interventions as and when necessary. * Produce monthly progress report of project portfolio performance against key measures and attend regular review meetings. * Build effective relationships with station personnel and act as an extension of the Station Leadership Team with regard to internal and external matters affecting the portfolio. * Working with, and utilising the support of; PPM peers, CTO colleagues and central project teams to embed best practice and a culture of knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and organisational learning. * Interfacing closely with key stakeholders such as the Station Director, Head of Investment Delivery, HSEQ Manager, Contract Manager to facilitate delivery, build relationships and foresee and mitigate risk wherever possible. * Ensure compliance with company processes and procedures for the project portfolio and delivery of work in accordance with Station Site License requirements and any other relevant legislation or guidance. The successful candidate will be a natural communicator with ability to manage, lead and motivate a multi-disciplinaryteam of skilled professionals. You'll also be very comfortablein influencing and challengingpeople at levels, whilstconfidently expressingyour thoughts, ideasand plans to a diverse group of stakeholders and colleagues. As an experienced Project Manager you'll be highly organised and well versed in utilising established methodologiesto oversee the delivery ofmultiple, high value and complex projects.You'll most likely have a broad engineering background, experience of operating withina heavily regulated environment is essential, exposure to the nuclear industry is highly desirable. The required Skills, Qualifications & Experience * Degree educated, ideally in engineeringor a scientific discipline. * Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification. * Must be fully versed in modern project management methodologies (APM, Prince 2, Agile etc.) within complex matrix based organisational structures. * Significant track record of success in delivering complex major projects and multiple project portfolios in heavily regulated and operational environments, preferably in the nuclear industry. * Experience in leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams working on complex technical platforms. * Experience of Microsoft office IT packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint and industry planning tools, standards and processes * A demonstrable working knowledge of relevant health, safety and environment legislation. * A demonstrable understanding of engineering, licensing, procurement, construction and commissioning.
