What we're looking for The Head of Risk and Compliance is an exciting opportunity to join Curve as we embark upon the next stage of our company's growth! Reporting to Curve's COO, you will be responsible for leading the development risk management and compliance function across our business and enabling the go-to-market launches of new and exciting products and features for our customers. You'll work closely with Curve's financial services verticals (eMoney, Credit and Insurance) and the Curve Leadership Team to Develop Curve's Risk Function in a timely and effective manner. Responsibilities * Accountable for the development and implementation of the Risk Function and processes across Curve * Manage the Head of Compliance for Curve's financial verticals (eMoney, Credit, Insurance) to ensure Risk Management processes are embedded effectively. * Ensure assessments are undertaken regularly, their outcomes are documented appropriately on the Compliance Risk Register and mitigating measures put in place in a timely manner; especially concerning underwriting, vulnerability assessment, affordability assessments and collections * Accountable for preparation of all relevant documentation and reporting to regulatory authorities as required (Compliance, Risk, MLRO, ettc) * Conducting detailed risk analysis - across all areas of the business - and ensuring these are appropriately documented in departmental risk registers and where relevant included in the Enterprise Risk Register * Reviewing - and where required - preparing the various risk related policies and procedures across the business and the separate financial services verticals Curve operates; or working with the relevant subject matter experts to ensure such policies and procedures are in place * Perform Horizon scanning exercises across the business * Support the Compliance Officer to collate regular, comprehensive reports on the material risks faced by the business; for reporting to Curve's Enterprise Risk Committee and the Board * Ability to advise Curve management on how to effectively embed proper product, data, processes and automations to reduce risk exposure across the company * Prepare minutes for and follow-up on any actions defined as part of Curve's Enterprise Risk Committee and Board meetings and ensure distribution of these minutes in a timely manner Requirements Your Experience: * Risk experience at a senior management level within a bank or other financial institution related to eMoney, Credit or Insurance (1st or 2nd lines of defence) * Strong knowledge across all risk disciplines and understanding of operating a risk and control framework in an FCA and PRA regulated business; especially credit and or insurance * Demonstrable regulatory knowledge relevant to the role, i.e. the relevant sections of the FCA handbook, FCA approach documents, JMLSG Guidance, FSMA, CCA, EMR, EMD, PSR, PSD, MLR, AMLD, DPA, GDPR, etc. and their international equivalents (where required) * High sense of responsibility and autonomy - "ready to go" from day one and getting stuck in the details * Strong knowledge of Compliance function a plus * Experience working with MLRO a plus * Enjoy working in a fast-paced start-up environment within a growing business * Ability to communicate with others confidently whilst remaining flexible/adaptable * Ability to work collaboratively within the team and across functions * Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory - any other languages are a plus (Polish, German, Italian, French, Spanish, or other European Language) Why Work at Curve?
