Job Description

The University's Strategic Communications and Marketing department is responsible for raising the profile of UWE Bristol locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. It delivers strategic communications, brand, marketing, alumni engagement and philanthropy for one of the UK's largest and most progressive universities. The Head of Digital Engagement is an exciting new role created within the department to help us drive forward our digital engagement with key audiences, including prospective and current students, staff, alumni, university partners and business. About you The Head of Digital Engagement will be responsible for developing digital engagement strategies that help the University deliver a digital first communications and marketing experience. They will lead the social media and web teams to create a pipeline of digital communications activities across our website and social media platforms to help the University stand out. They will work as part of the department's Senior Management Team, and will work closely with other teams in the department, including the media team, student communications, internal communications, marketing and creative. The candidate will be required at times to deputise for the Director, Corporate Communications & Creative Strategy, and represent the department on appropriate boards and committees. They will also be expected to plan and participate in out of hours support for the digital channels. It is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.
