Interview date to be confirmed Main Responsibilities: The main purpose of the role is to risk assess, evaluate and research intelligence reports in line with threat, harm and risk according to priority, (high, medium, low) as defined by national guidance and locally agreed protocols in an accurate and timely manner. To assess sensitive intelligence, check risk assessments and handle dissemination and enquiries in relation to sensitive intelligence reports. Identify intelligence that should be treated as sensitive, liaising with relevant police personnel regarding access requirements. To ensure submitted intelligence reports add value and are accurately input in a timely manner. Where required, provide grounds for rejecting/returning intelligence reports, supporting decision with a rationale. To disseminate intelligence reports as necessary to relevant persons, teams, other forces and partner agencies, adhering to handling codes specified and in accordance with handling guidance if any stated. To submit, process and record Crimestoppers intelligence reports, including research and creation of packages where appropriate. To assist in collating statistical information concerning Crimestoppers to enable accurate feedback. To prioritise, assess and action all enquiries received via the IPU email inbox, including out of force and prison intelligence as required. Check the hotline answer phone for messages and respond accordingly. To carry out data quality assurance/integrity audits. To work as part of a team to ensure tasks within Intelligence Processing Unit are prioritised and covered as required. To provide support and guidance to police personal and external agencies on internal processes and procedures relating to Intelligence Processing Unit. To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required. Experience/Skills: Educated to 'GCSE' level (or equivalent) specifically in Maths and English. Experience of prioritising, analysing, researching and presenting data. Previous experience within a police intelligence environment with use of intelligence systems (desirable). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent administration skills and an eye for detail. Ability to analyse, assimilate and assess information. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Competent use of IT, particularly using Windows based packages, advanced Excel and databases. We want our organisation to be as diverse as the community it serves.
