Job Description

MTC are now recruiting for a Social Worker to join our team at Rainsbrook Secure Training Centre (STC) working with the Children and Young People (CYP) who have either been remanded into custody or are serving custodial sentences with us at the Centre. About MTC Over the last few years we have forged a strong identity in the rehabilitation industry with a view towards significantly reducing the level of reoffending in the UK. Our company aims are underpinned by our staff and by our overall approach to rehabilitation practices, which are centred on four core values: integrity, innovation, responsibility and excellence. We are looking for someone to assist with the development and implementation of all child protection and safeguarding systems, policies and procedures across the STC, including the management of allegations, disclosures, self-harm and anti-bullying processes. Some key aspects of the role * Leads practice which identifies situations that may lead to harm or abuse * Plan, coordinate and manage the overall delivery of child protection and safeguarding systems, policies and procedures (including Child Protection, Suicide and Self Harm (SASH), Early Days Policy, and Violence Reduction to ensure safeguarding of all CYP admitted to the STC and the needs of CYP remain paramount * Provide safeguarding advice on Managing and Minimising Physical Restraint (MMPR) * Work effectively with stakeholders and partners such as Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO), Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), Police, Youth Custody Service (YCS), Barnardos and the CYP's family and carers to ensure safeguarding of all CYP * Monitors and reviews quality assurance systems and processes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement * To complete 1:1 and group interventions with young people, addressing behaviour which puts them at risk About you We're looking for a positive and motivated individual with a fantastic track record of developing and achieving great outcomes with young people, or evidential ability to adapt to some of the niche challenges they may face in working with young people within this sector.
