Job Description

Senior Clinical Psychologist/ Forensic Psychotherapist An opportunity has arisen to be part of the development, initiation, delivery and evaluation of a unique psychological intervention service in the North East. The potholder will be employed by Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW, rated "Outstanding" by the Care Quality Commission) and based in the new joint NHS and HMPPS commissioned 50 bedded Provision PIPE at HMP Holme House, Stockton on Tees. Operating within the Offender Personality disorder pathway joint leadership model, alongside the unit operational lead, the post holder will be responsible for clinical leadership within the developing PIPE, ensuring that the culture, environment and interventions as well as the training packages provided for offenders and staff are underpinned by psychologically informed values and principles. They will provide reflective group and individual supervision to other staff, will participate in personal supervision via the CNTW secure care psychology services, and also attend monthly group analytic supervision funded by the OPD programme. They will ensure CPD requirements of both HMPPS and NTW are met. They will engage in strategic planning, quality, management and performance reviews and activities internally and externally as appropriate, including contract review meetings with commissioners. As a key aspect of their role they will attend relevant regional and national PIPE network activities and ensure that agreed developments are introduced and evaluated. Applications are welcomed from suitably qualified and experienced clinical psychologists and forensic psychotherapy practitioners. Consideration will be given to applications from forensic psychologists with relevant therapeutic skills and training, although it should be noted that an essential aspect of this post is the ability to ensure that NHS values and practice models are embedded as part of this PIPE development, in keeping with the OPD partnership model.
