Break into Prison healthcare! HMP Channings Wood is a local Cat C training and resettlement prison for adult males located in the beautiful village of Denbury, near the market town of Newton Abbot.. To ensure the continued quality of care at HMP Channings Wood, we're looking for Healthcare Assistants to come and join our team. About the role As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages such as ECG, urine analysis and blood pressure checks. You could also be involved with phlebotomy and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients' care. You will support and assist patients with the activities of daily living, work with the Pharmacy Team to help them fulfill their daily tasks and you will be encouraged to take the lead on wellbeing promotion clinics. If you do not have relevant training in phlebotomy, we would be willing to provide training and development in this area, subject to service needs. About you We are on the lookout for Healthcare Assistants who have experience of working within a Primary Care setting including GP surgeries and hospitals. You'll hold an NVQ 2/3 in Health and Social Care and must have a willingness to undertake training in Mental Health Awareness, suicide prevention, self-harm and ACCT procedures as well as Health Promotion and screening. We'll utilise the wellbeing model to put patient care and safety at the heart of everything we do through assessing prisoners across 5 domains of; physical and mental wellbeing, substance misuse, relationships and resettlement. The patient and clinician complete a wellbeing wheel assessment to set goals and outcomes in partnership. The patient will complete the assessment and any needs identified will be met by our fully integrated service delivery team. Further job information This is a permanent full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week rotational basis week. The salary for this role is up to 20,000 per annum - dependent on experience.
