We have an opportunity for a full-time Specialty Doctor to shape services at Hansa Ward, Cygnet Hospital Beckton - while being fully supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist and first-class multidisciplinary team. Hansa Ward is a 13 bed, high dependency complex care service for women with learning disabilities, associated complex needs and who may have behaviours that challenge. Emergency referrals are accepted and the team are experienced in managing them quickly and efficiently to ensure the transition for the service user is as smooth as possible. Apply now to enjoy excellent career prospects whilereaping the rewards of making a difference to others - every day. ----- Your role responsibilities... * Provide high quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist * Assess referrals & undertake mental state examinations of service users * Participate in weekly ward rounds & attend multidisciplinary meetings * Attend Care Programme Approach & Section 117 meetings & mental health review tribunals * Provide up-to-date clinical information at all meetings * Ensure that medical decisions are implemented as planned * Audit medical services & ensure compliance with GMC & other professional guidelines * Uphold policies & procedures and contribute to service governance & development Why Cygnet? You'll also have an educational supervisor to review your progress and oversee your development - and you'll receive support with MRCPsych exams.
