Job Description

Ward Manager 8 months Fixed Term/ Secondment at Silver Birch Unit Silver Birch is a 19 bed Acute Inpatient Ward at Callington Road Hospital. Further to the reconfiguration of the wards in line with the COVID-19 Pandemic Silver Birch is currently operating as an Acute Mental Health Treatment Ward where service users are admitted following a 14 day quarantine period on an Acute Admission Ward. The ward is supported by Occupational Therapy, Activity Co-ordinator and Psychologist who are all based on the ward and work closely with the nursing and medical team to provide a wide ranging programme of therapeutic activity and psychological support for service users and staff. In addition there is wider MDT support of Physiotherapy and Active Life workers at Callington Road site. This secondment is an opportunity for an individual in a Band 6 or 7 role to develop their clinical and managerial skills leading a motivated and positive multi disciplinary team who are committed to providing high quality clinical care. You would be fully supported by the matron to develop your management ability and clinical skills and will also have the benefit of the wide ranging multi disciplinary clinical and management support at the Callington Road site.
