Worley are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team based in Aberdeen on a fixed term basis. Role Overview: The Financial Analyst assumes complete responsibility for financial controls and assurance. The role will be supported by offshore teams (Business Service Centre in Kuala Lumpur) and local finance within the UK but with responsibility for outcomes resting with financial analyst. As well as assuring financial outputs, you will also add value as part of the overall team by adapting, automating, and making more efficient all finance processes; and by living out company values on a day by day basis. This is a Fixed Term role with the expectation that it will be for an initial 6 months. Responsibilities & Duties Reporting directly to the UK Accounting Manager and working as part of a fast-growing team consolidating UK workload into Aberdeen, you will deliver financial control outputs for UK entities. Key responsibilities are currently as follows but are not limited to: + Balance sheet reconciliation, review, and analysis, with a focus on quality of reconciliation format and analysis, and assurance around accounting for financial items and areas requiring judgement and a knowledge of accounting legislation such as investment valuation, dividend policy etc. + Specific focus on financial items in P&L - eg "below the line" interest, FX, etc. + Periodic review of project balance sheets alongside project accountant, and assurance around project governance process alignment of reporting standards and requirements. + Timely delivery, in tandem with support teams, of monthly group reporting, including specific control checks around HFM reporting + Assessment of non-standard journal entry requirements, and all journal approvals + Completion of annual statutory accounts, and audit liaison on analytics and judgement areas + Periodic review and assessment of control environment in tandem with other analysts and senior finance personnel; risk analysis, change management, implementation of change and monitoring. + Assessment and delivery of internal reporting needs. These currently include Strength & Weakness analysis and a detailed ongoing assessment of impact of burden rates on cost recovery. + Advance preparation and assurance around roll-out of new accounting standards, in tandem with UKFS, and ongoing assurance in respect of key standards such as IFRS16, IFRS15 etc. Role Requirements: + Dynamic, strategic thinker. + First-rate analytical skills, with the ability to present findings to people across departments. + Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise. + Qualified accountant +5 years or qualified by experience. + Good knowledge of technical accounting theory and practice. + Strong on technical accounting theory and practice + Excellent communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal. + Excellent at building relationships and working with other teams. + Advanced Excel skills. + Experience of Oracle would be beneficial.
