Purpose of the role Working as part of our corporate practice group, alongside a Senior Paralegal in Aberdeen, you will advise clients on all aspects of private company secretarial matters. You will use Blueprint company secretarial software to manage client statutory registers electronically (and occasionally in hard copy). Day to day work will include filing forms with Companies House (including liaising directly with Companies House advisers in order to answer difficult questions), the preparation of routine board minutes, shareholder resolutions and dealing with registered post. You will also provide support and advice on ad hoc company secretarial matters via telephone and email. You will work with the wider UK company secretarial and governance teams based between Leeds, Birmingham and London. Main Duties & Responsibilities * File opening and carrying out anti-money laundering checks on new clients * Sorting and dispatching mail received on behalf of our clients as their registered office * Data entry in respect of adding new companies to the Blueprint company secretarial software * Management of hard copy registers * Production of routine minutes (and, on occasion, attendance at meetings) * Liaising with Companies House * Advising on all aspects of private company secretarial administration * Maintaining monthly billing spreadsheets and invoicing on a rolling basis Qualifications & Experience: * Educated to at least degree level (law or conversion) * Useful but non-essential:- * LPC/CPE * Database experience, particularly of Blueprint Company Secretarial software * Company secretarial experience / Charter ship Personal Qualities & Behaviours: * Professional appearance and manner * Flexible and willing to work within a busy environment * Good time management skills * Enthusiastic, confident and demonstrable interpersonal skills * Accurate with excellent attention to detail * Demonstrates honesty and integrity * A team player, but able to work independently * Committed, hard working and responsible
