In May 2019, TerraCycle launched its newest initiative, Loop, a global circular shopping system that enables brands, retailers and consumers to transition from single-use disposable materials to reusable, durable packaging, washed by Loop and refilled by the brands. Loop has engaged many of the world's largest consumer product companies (including P&G, Nestle, Unilever, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, and Mondelez) and many of the world's largest retailers in this platform. Loop is currently available in the mid-Atlantic and Northeastern U.S and Paris and Lille France, with plans to expand into several new markets including Canada, Japan, the UK and Germany in 2020. Job Overview - The Head of Quality & product safety will implement and lead the quality, product safety, and regulatory programs of -Loop in Europe. This includes defining requirements; establishing QA procedures, systems and protocols; leading validation of process controls and standards; running internal and external audits and implementing and executing training routines, being the key contact with our brands, and retailers to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, food safety standards & health safety requirements of our operations. Primary Responsibilities - * Lead the strategy for quality & product safety for Loop in Europe * Develop and maintain QA manual, processes and systems for the overall performance of Loop * Develop quality control standards for new products and packaging * Validate process controls and standards are being met * Perform audits of vendors, operators, and contractors * Create, edit and maintain Quality documentation (HACCP, GMP, SOPs, etc.) * Communicate with brands & retailers on all quality related questions to ensure compliance & product safety & client satisfaction on the Loop service * Be aware of EU regulatory requirements for operations, product safety, in particular food. * Train associated staff and employees on appropriate Quality standards * Manage assigned projects and maintain tracking information * Communicate project updates and requirements to critical staff and accounts * Perform all other related tasks and assignments Requirements/Skills - * Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Scientific discipline, Quality Control, or a related field is desired * Expertise in quality principles and practices * Experience implementing Quality Control systems throughout a manufacturing line and supply chain * Up-to-date knowledge of EU food safety regulations and relevant regulations * Proven ability to assess and order priorities, juggle multiple tasks, and project manage * An enthusiastic attitude towards sustainability and quality * 10+ years of professional experience * Experience in the food industry & microbiological testing * Cleanliness validation experience is a plus * Familiarity with packaging regulations and labeling regulations for consumer goods is a plus * Product washing, sanitization, filling, and cooling and cold chain management is a plus * Fluency in French a plus Compensation - * Salary depending on experience * 25 Paid Holiday Days * Company Pension contribution up to 3% of salary Start date - ASAP The job description is not all-inclusive.
