Are you a part qualified or fully qualified finance professional with a desire to develop your career in financial control and account preparation? At St mungo's we have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Financial Controller to join the Finance team, working to ensure St Mungo's maintains a high standard of financial control as this is fundamental in ensuring our resources reach those who most need our help. About the role Key responsibilities will include: * Management of the cashier. Including credit cards, petty cash, loans, deposits and banking arrangements. * Monthly balance sheet and cash flow reporting to the Leadership, Executive and Board identifying key financial drivers and risks. * Support in preparation of the annual statutory accounts for the group and ownership of accounts preparation for a number of subsidiaries. * Preparation of VAT and Corporation Tax returns including liaising with external advisors. * Administrative management of the finance systems. * Reviewing financial policies and procedures to ensure they remain up to date and reflect latest regulations and best practice. Our controls support front line staff in delivering outstanding services to support clients in their recovery. What we're looking for The successful candidate will: * Be CCAB part qualified (or equivalent) and will have worked within a financial control environment before * Have experience of line management although this may be in a peer role. You will be keen to develop the skills of those around you. * Have experience of using finance software to interpret financial performance and strong data analytical skills. Your enquiring mind will mean you question data and information you are given. You will have good Excel skills which you can use to prepare clear data analytics with an eye for detail. * Be happy working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
