SEND Teaching Assistant - Fircroft Primary School

Job Description
The Role 35 hours per week (Mon - Fri 8.30am- 4pm) ( hour unpaid lunch break) Term-time only (39 weeks) Required as soon as possible Fircroft is a friendly, multi cultural, two form entry, primary school. We are looking for an experienced SEND teaching assistant to join our staff team who has the skills, patience and understanding to support a child with significant social, emotional and learning needs. In liaison with the class teacher and the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion you will play a key role in implementing the strategies on the pupils' Individual Education Plan (IEP). You will be supporting literacy and maths skills in and out of the classroom and also provide support outside the classroom to facilitate positive interaction with peers. Essential * NVQ Level 3 or equivalent * Previous experience working with SEND children, particularly those with social and emotional/behavioural needs. Desirable * ELSA trained * Experience of working with children who have suffered trauma. An information pack, including a Job Description and Person Specification can be downloaded below.
