Are you passionate about sharing your skills and experience to support others? Are you looking for a flexible volunteering opportunity? This role may be for you! We are looking for working professionals to join our Employability Services and people with good understanding and knowledge of seeking employment to provide mentoring support to long term unemployed people. As a Mentor you will use your personal expertise of your sector of employment to support your mentees and apply, gain and sustain employment. Your will be matched to mentees and support them to enhance their knowledge of the sector and applying for work, support them set realistic goals and expectations, support them remain focused and motivated to achieve their goals and overcome the barriers they encounter. You will need to provide weekly to fortnightly mentoring session to your allocated mentees which will be either face to face, via Skype, Zoom or phone. To be successful in this role you will be committed to support people, have excellent interpersonal skills, and good knowledge of your area of work. You will be able to commit to 7 hours per week and be able to commit to meet your allocated mentees up to once a week.
