Job Description

Radiographer - Band 6 The Chelsea and Westminster Foundation Hospital is one of the National Health Service's most modern hospitals, providing staff with an innovative and friendly working environment. We are situated in the heart of Chelsea with its wide range of shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as being only 20 minutes from London's West End. The department employs more than 50 radiographers undertaking over 200,000 examinations a year. A broad range of techniques is offered including MRI, CT, Interventional and other digital imaging modalities, as well as a busy ED department. The ED department has recently been expanded to increase capacity, including an ED Imaging suite which now has 2 new DR X-ray rooms plus a new CT scanner. The hospital is one of the best in the country for achieving the 4 hour wait target. The Trust is in the top 20% of acute trusts for staff recommending us as a place to work and receive treatment, as well as staff engagement and motivation, according to the 2018 National NHS Staff Survey. The Trust has also been rated as 'Good' in all five of the main domains measured by the CQC, giving us 'Good' under the new CQC framework. We were also rated as 'Outstanding' for 'use of resources' by an NHS Improvement inspection carried out at the same time as the CQC inspection. The Band 6 Radiographer rotation encompasses all areas of the department including General x-ray, Fluoroscopy/Endoscopy, ED, Mobiles/Theatres, CT and Interventional Radiography. Experience in CT and Interventional Radiology is desirable but training will be given for the successful candidate, including cannulation. There may also be MRI opportunities in the future. This post has a commitment to an on-call system involving night and weekend duties. The successful candidate may be required to work extended hours when necessary by the department.
