Job Description

We are looking for dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic Theatre Practitioners, who are team players ready to embrace the challenge of working in a busy Day Surgical Unit at Lymington / University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). We are currently a Monday to Friday service with the expectation of expansion of the service to weekend working. The key function of the role is to provide knowledge and skills within the operating theatre environment. Key tasks include but are not limited to: Clinically confident in delivering clinical excellence in the Surgical theatre including circulating and Scrubbing, whilst ensuring the smooth management of patients throughout their pathway, efficient theatre utilisation, assisting the Registered practitioners and consultants in their roles. You will need to be clinical competent and demonstrate effective team working. Knowledge of IT based trust systems would be desirable, although full training will be given. Attention to detail and good communication are also essential as you will be dealing with patients, relatives and staff from across the whole trust within a number of disciplines. The roles reports directly to the Theatre team leader and whilst it will be busy you will be expected to support the growing service and ensure efficient utilisation is met, whilst maintaining a high standard of patient care and practice.
