Job Description

An exciting opportunity had arisen at the City Road site of Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to lead the Theatre Department and the Sterile Sterilisation services for high quality surgical pathways of care. Moorfields NHS Foundation Trust is a world leading single speciality organisation and centre of excellence. The Trust provides high quality care across a range of ophthalmic specialities working in partnership with University College London Institute of Ophthalmology. The City Road Division is the main hospital site for the Trust and in our most recent published report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), has been given a rating of "Outstanding" and 'Good' overall for the Trust. We are seeking a highly experienced, dynamic, energetic and motivated registered practitioner who is able to provide demonstrable evidence of having lead and managed complex and high volume theatre departments and services beyond. The successful candidate will be able to show commitment to high quality patient centred care and be able to balance the conflicting operational demands of an elective and non-elective, multi-speciality ophthalmology services, seven days a week theatre department. The individual will have depth of knowledge and skills to support leaders and teams, as well as evidence of leading change, business planning and service developments/improvements. The post holder will be responsible for managing the theatre leadership team, sterile service manager and support in quality improvement pathways across the surgical patient pathway. The post holder will also deputise for the Divisional Head of Nursing in order to ensure consistent leadership across the Division. You will expect a high degree of autonomy and work within and across a number of services, departments and professional groups across the Moorfield's network. Probationary Period: This post will be subject to a probationary period of 6 months. During the probationary period, your suitability for continued employment will be assessed and provided a satisfactory standard is achieved and maintained, your employment will be confirmed. The probationary period may be extended Or your employment terminated either during or at the end of probation, in line with the trust Probationary Policy.
