Job Description
Delivery Manager/Project Manager We are currently seeking a Delivery Manager/Project Manager to lead the delivery on a range of public services projects that are at the forefront of what technology enables. You will be expected to: * Build and maintain teams, ensure they are motivated, collaborating and working well * Have an excellent understanding of Delivery and Project Management * Contribute to the delivery management community within Agilisys * Manage stakeholder relationships * Be flexible on working location Skills needed for this role Agile and lean working. You can identify, compare and can lead on a range of Agile and Lean tools and techniques. You can be an advocate for these tools and techniques and coach within and outside of your team. You can recognise the natural limitations of Agile and Lean practices and how to counter resistance to them. You have a working knowledge of the GDS Service Manual. You can apply waterfall techniques where necessary. You can establish a feedback loop for teams. You can take responsibility for the translation and measurement of value derived from products and services built by your team and how it relates to the client's objectives and user needs. You can ensure the team has a wider awareness of other client projects/programmes and the overall priorities. You can ensure the working practices are iterated to achieve more efficient delivery. Commercial Management. You can effectively manage the budget within the constraints of the project. You know how to maintain projected budgets against expenditure. You know how to resource your team with client and Agilisys team members. You understand the appropriate contacts and procedures to follow within the supplier between functional and delivery management. Communication Skills. You can advocate and communicate what the team does across organisational, technical and political boundaries. You can listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret them. You can manage stakeholders' expectations and be flexible. You are capable of proactive and reactive communications. You can facilitate difficult decisions within the team or with diverse stakeholders. You know how to successfully react and respond to challenge. Financial Management . You can balance cost versus value. You can consider the impact of user needs. You know when to escalate issues. Life-cycle perspective. You recognise the different stages of a project. You know when to move from one stage of a project lifecycle to another and can lead the team through the transition. You can ensure the team is working towards the appropriate approach and outcomes for each stage. You can manage delivery in different project phases from Discovery, Delivery and into live. Maintaining delivery momentum. You can solve issues and unblock problems and know when to escalate. You know how to drive the team and set the pace, ensuring teams are working towards delivery commitments. You can identify and address internal and external risks and issues. You can own and communicate dependencies across teams. You can apply priorities and clearly communicate the impact of changes to priorities. Making the process work. You focus on the outcome. You can identify and challenge methods that increase complexity and processes that are unnecessarily complicated. You can contribute to the wider project management community to influence and make positive changes. Planning. You can take a consistent and ongoing approach to planning, forecasting, estimating and managing uncertainty, metrics and measurements, contingency planning and road-mapping. You can follow the Agilisys approach to governance. You know how to communicate plans, planning assumptions and progress to a range of stakeholders and be aware of client supplier commercial sensitives. You can provide delivery confidence and know how to use data in planning. You can maintain the cadence of delivery. Team dynamics and collaboration. You can bring people with diverse skills and backgrounds together and lead a motivated team. You can help create the right environment for a team to be empowered to deliver and maintain influence.
