Job Description

We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team, working on and leading the DevOps for our own products and platforms. We've developed the platform from the ground up in the last 18 months. The core solution is based around RabbitMQ, with .NET WCF and Web API's with RethinkDB, MongoDB, and MySQL databases, with a responsive and adaptive web frontend built on React hosted on Node.js and a CMS based on Ruby on Rails so we're looking for someone with good experience using most of these technologies. You must be keen on keeping up-to-date with new technologies, techniques and processes, and identify where these could lead to improvements for your role. The DevOps team will be made up for 3 engineers, including yourself, as well as working alongside our Head of Architecture and TechOps. The role absolutely involves hands on, indeed it is not a line management role at all, it's about the tech and support the other teams on a technical basis. The Senior DevOps Engineer will help manage our development and production environments. You will be responsible for automating and monitoring any and all possible tasks, documenting it and sharing the knowledge with the team. You must be keen on keeping up-to-date with new technologies, techniques and processes, and identify where these could lead to improvements for your role. If this sounds like something that excites you, keep reading. * Strong knowledge of Linux (CentOS) * Knowledge of Windows Server and hosting .NET WCF and WebAPI services * Configuration management (Ansible/Terraform) * Experience with AWS and VMWare management and automation * Experience with container solution using Docker, swarm and Kubernetes * Building and scaling monitoring solutions (Zabbix, Splunk, prometheus) * Continuous integration and source code management (Jenkins, Git) * Bash and scripting languages * Powershell is a nice to have * Be an expert problem solver * An excellent communicator, both verbal and written * Someone who is adaptable and able to pick up new techniques * Enjoys keeping up to date with advances in technologies and how they can be applied to projects * Hardworking and willing to go above and beyond to learn new skills * Love working as part of a team and collaborating with others * Flexible.
