Location: Flexible (with regular travel required to Exeter) Term: Full time, Permanent Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience plus generous company benefits Closing Date: Sunday 21st June 2020 About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for a UI/UX Designer with passion and creativity to become an essential part of our team. This role is responsible for understanding our users and products, as well as business and technical requirements, and helping to translate this understanding into visually appealing, engaging and highly usable web experiences. The role will report into our Senior UI/UX Designer. You'll work closely with our Senior UI/UX Designer and key stakeholders, including both Product and Scrum teams, to create and implement user journeys, UI elements and designs that respond well across a wide range of web and mobile devices. Key Responsibilities: * Delivering high quality UX/UI design as a part of a multidisciplinary team * Designing, planning and conducting user research sessions with a range of audiences to help understand user needs, behaviour and motivations * Translating high-level requirements into interfaces with intuitive and functional navigation and architecture * Checking assumptions and validating designs through usability testing and rapidly iterating based upon feedback * Working collaboratively with Engineers to deliver refined aesthetics and microinteractions * Integrating UX into Agile development practices whilst working on parallel projects, handling multiple design deliverables and working with various teams across the company (Product, Engineering, Content, Marketing) * Undertaking any other activities required to support the development our products and the achievements of Sparx's overall goals About Sparx In these challenging times, education is going through a transformation. In terms of specifics, the list below gives an overview of some of the skills and experiences we're looking for: Essential * A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent UX/UI design skills * Experience creating wireframes, storyboards, prototypes and user flows to communicate and test design concepts * Commercial experience with user interface and interaction design and standard UCD methodologies. * Experience designing, conducting and analysing user research to determine user needs, wants and expectations * Experience incorporating findings from user research into solutions, with a focus on me
