Company Description Overview Specialist role Designer Summary of the work We're a new, government funded startup looking for a Head of Design to oversee the development of all of our user-facing products and services. We're a small team, so the successful candidate will be comfortable with graphic and UI design, and be able to set the design of the organisation. Latest start date 01/09/2016 Expected contract length Four months, with possible extension. What the specialist will work on Responsible for defining the design principles of the organisation. Responsible for the design of our user-facing services, from our website, our online services (such as a journal platform) through to our membership welcome pack and the look and feel of our events. Work setup Address where the work will take place Euston, London Working arrangements Onsite at least four days a week, possible to work from home one day. Security clearance None Qualifications Skills and experience Essential skills and experience * Understanding and use of fundamental design principles * Understands web standards, limitations, opportunities, best practices, and trends * Create designs that are simple, elegant, interactive, while achieving the goals of the project * Proficient with Adobe creative suite, sketching, prototyping, and wireframing * Proven ability to manage time and composure while working on multiple projects * A meticulous attention to detail with all aspects of work Nice-to-have skills and experience * Working knowledge of HTML and CSS * Articulate process and design details to internal teams and key stakeholders Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
