Job Description
Fareham College offers brand new state of the art facilities comprised of workshops, teaching classrooms, learning resource centres, restaurants, a theatre, a hair & beauty salon and associated facilities. If you have an extensive generalist HR background, significant experience of employee relations and take great satisfaction in working with people to develop and improve working relationships; this could be the role for you! We are looking for an HR Adviser, to cover a period of maternity leave, to work with specified departments across the College to support them in all aspects of HR covering the full employee life cycle. The role will involve forging close links with your departments, really getting to grips with how you can support them to improve and reach their potential. You will also be responsible for overseeing employee pre-employment checks, organising an employee wellbeing programme, being a key part of various college committees e.g. Staff Liaison, Health and Safety, Wellbeing and Trade Union consultation meetings and co-ordinating cross College HR Projects and reports. We are looking for candidates with outstanding communication skills, who are effective in liaising with staff and management at all levels, providing accurate and tailored advice on a wide variety of sensitive issues. You should have excellent IT skills, including Excel. You must be educated to degree level and hold a Level 5 CIPD qualification, or other equivalent professional HR qualification, in addition to Maths and English GCSEs at grade C or above. As this role is due to maternity leave it will be initially for 12 months however this date may change if the person on maternity leave decides to return sooner. The role is 22 hours per week and we are prepared to be flexible around which days of the week these are worked on.
