Job Description
Orthopaedic MSK Acute Rehabilitation Team Physiotherapist This service has been created to provide a seamless therapy service to orthopaedic patients from pre operative to post operative therapy in the in and outpatient setting. The therapist will be part of the MDT, and work closely with the Occupational Therapists. The team will be responsible for providing assessment and interventions to inpatients on our trauma wards and elective ward, and then rehabilitation into the outpatient and community setting. The Therapist would be part of a 7 day team involved in the following: Outpatient setting * MSK 1;1 session in out patient settings * Exercise rehabilitation classes in out patient setting * Attendance in consultant clinics * Information / education classes Inpatient setting * Board rounds * #NOF meetings * MDT meetings * Joint School * Extended hours * Treatment session based on the ward The job will involve responsibility for the supervision of band 5 Physiotherapists, assistants and students. The post also requires weekend, extended hours service and on call commitment. You will be provided adequate training and support for these responsibilities. We have close links with Orthopaedic Consultants, offering good opportunities for multi-profession working and clinical development. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, flexibility and a commitment to improving the patient's experience, and be able to promote the development of the service. They will be required to show initiative and be able to organise and priorities their work effectively.
