We are looking for a Junior Underwriting responsible for reviewing credit applications for Tymits credit card, assessing the risk associated with those applications. Using established underwriting guidelines, you will evaluate borrower financial and credit information in tandem with the wider Risk team assessing the risk associated with those applications to determine if the accounts are eligible for approval or should be declined. You will evaluate risk, solve problems, and develop efficiencies. In this role, you would be on the front-line team and be a key person to Tymits success. Dur i ng your time at Tymit you will * Evaluate and verify new applications in line with Tymit's guidelines. * Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of high-profile customers upon onboarding. * Assess applicants background information and current financial situation in order to identify the risk involved. * Communicate with customers through a variety of channels to collect relevant information. * Perform other due diligence as needed to determine the creditworthiness of the client. * Determine approval or declines of new clients applications. * Specify any closing conditions on approved credit limit to ensure regulations are met. * Review suspicious account activities, analyse trends and take measures to deter fraud during the onboarding process. * Develop manual underwriter scorecard to support the judgmental decision review process. * Collaborate with the wider Risk team to build risk models using both internal and external data sources. * Provide ongoing support to credit data, helping Tymit to develop new product features that improve the onboarding experience of our customers. * Support the adoption of new processes and tools, providing constructive feedback and collaborating with Operations, Product and Engineering teams. What you will bring along * You have previously gained experience in a similar role within the Operations or Risk function preferably within the fintech or wider financial service industry. * You bring an understanding of credit risk including affordability criteria and credit risk analysis. * You have superb communication skills, both verbal and written * You are quick to adapt to new technology. * You are persistent and thorough, willing to go the extra mile to understand specific cases and examine underlying causes. * You bring a strong willingness to learn, innate curiosity, and ability to think creatively when directives are unstructured or uncertain. * You can think critically about complex problems, appropriately weight many factors and reach a definitive conclusion. * You have a strong desire to contribute to the success of Tymits growth plans. * You have entrepreneurial DNA with the desire to solve problems whilst wanting to inspire and share your knowledge and passion for FinTech. Compensation & Perks The salary range of this role is 20,000 25,000 per annum depending on experience. Stock options. 25 days of paid holiday plus bank holidays. Your birthday off.
