Job Description
Role Overview Reporting to the Director of IT Application Delivery this role will be working directly with the IT Director and the Application Developers on planning of IT internally developed applications, reports, macros/utilities and all in-house developed solutions and quality control of all internal development. This person will be required to work with Private Client Fund Managers, Investment Support team, Risk & Performance team, Operations, Finance, Compliance and other business users to discuss prioritization of development items and assess the time and effort estimates for internal developments and to understand and resolve production issues and defects related to internal developments. Current technology used within the Application Development team: * Advanced Excel VBA, Oracle SQL, .Net, Crystal Reports, SSIS Future technology considerations: * Microsoft Power Platforms, Python Scripting, API interfaces Key Responsibilities Responsibilities for this role include: * Responsible for creating and generating regular reports/dashboards for MI reporting * Categorize, prioritize and resolve internally developed application issues * Analyze the existing development infrastructure and implement improvements to it based upon streamlining processes and ensuring the delivery of the final product. * Serve as a quality control manager supervising peer code reviews and walkthroughs * Analyze and implement best practices protocols and guide the overall effort * Work directly with the business users, stakeholders and the IT development team to discuss prioritization of development items and assess the time and effort estimates for internal developments. * Ensure delivery is consistent with processes across the team. * Work effectively with Business users/Stakeholders and Product Owners to ensure delivery against agreed priorities; * Lead and manage the Development IT team to deliver software and solutions that meets the needs of users; * Implement mechanisms to monitor, manage and provide progress on all software development activities; * Accountable for the on time and to quality delivery of internal IT developments * Create, implement and maintain a continuous improvement plan for software development * Work with the IT Director in Identifying and implementing technology trends that will be able to support the future success of the business; * To drive consistent standards and approaches throughout the development teams; ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained * Responsible for his/her own work planning against objectives set in agreement with the IT Director Communication and information * Report to and meet with the IT Director on an as agreed regular basis * Meet regularly with the IT Developers and the Application Development team * Communicate and ensure engagement of technology strategies internally * Ensure effective internal communications both within the development team and interactions with other teams and business stakeholders * Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected of the role and as necessary in order to achieve the goals and objectives of the Development IT team Regulatory Responsibilities (Compliance/T&C) * Act in a compliant manner with all relevant FCA and other regulations
