It is commissioned from Peterborough and Cambridge CCG, South Lincolnshire CCG and NHS England. Both hospitals; Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke have fully equipped obstetric and midwifery led birthing units. This Deputy Head of Midwifery role operates to support the role of Head of Midwifery in delivering Community Services and Outpatient AN Services . The post holder will deputise for the Head of Midwifery (HoM) and carry corporate and professional responsibility and accountability for the specific aspects of maternity services across the Trust. With the HOM they will contribute to the development and review of maternity services' business strategy so addressing and meeting the needs of Public Services, Commissioners, the Board's vision and priorities, and wider requirements. With the Midwifery Director and HoM, the Deputy HoM supports the Chief Nurse with the delivery of the wider corporate professional agenda, including the development of innovative strategies for maternity services to enable a strong and empowered workforce at all levels that is fit for purpose and equipped to deliver excellence in care standards.
