Job Description Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical & Process Commissioning Lead as part of the Topside Construction team. This person will contribute to a timely completion, based on safety and quality, of the Mechanical and Process Commissioning related activities of the new facilities for the Project. This includes work preparations and planning as well as participation in commissioning and start-up reviews during design phase, through to follow up on supplier packages and further to supervision and guidance of the Contractor's mechanical completion efforts and the execution of commissioning and start-up activities. The Mechanical and Process Commissioning Lead shall bring specialist skills and be competent in all work associated with the assigned objects at both Contractor Eng. Office, at the Suppliers premises, at the Construction field offices and yard as well as offshore. Start date: 31. March 2014 Reporting to: Commissioning Manager - Topside Work Place: Woking, UK (until tentatively Nov 2014); Singapore (tentatively Nov 14 - Mar 16); Offshore (tentatively Mar 16 - Oct 16) RESPONSIBILITIES: - Responsible for Mechanical and Process disciplines commissioning activities throughout the project. - Ensure that HSE&Q policies and procedures are adhered to in all phases of the work. - Be actively involved in the commissioning preparations phase, and provide commissioning and start-up input to engineering and design as appropriate. - Identify resources, lead, organize and control discipline commissioning engineers in a manner that ensures the groups goals and targets are met in a safe, timely and correct manner. - Follow up on commissioning performance and make recommendations for improvements and mitigating actions if needed. - Ensure that commissioning requirements are properly evaluated and requested as part of the evaluation criteria and masking for all relevant procurement items. - Plan for and assist in follow up of supplier packages and participate in FAT's. - Monitor progress and assess progress reports issued by Suppliers/Vendors related to construction related issues - Develop commissioning and start-up procedures together with discipline engineers and operations personnel. - Define necessary test equipment, temporaries, tools and commissioning spare parts. - Coordinate contractor support on commissioning and start-up activities. - Participate in the handover process from Commissioning to Operations Qualifications - University degree or equivalent within engineering & construction - Less formal education may be compensated with documented relevant experience - Min. 15 years experience of construction of larger North Sea projects and completion of EPC Contracts - Good and documented knowledge of Norwegian regulatory requirements (NORSOK) and IEC standards - Working knowledge and experience with Norwegian offshore engineering and construction codes and standards - Working experience with SE Asian contractors - Regulatory competence for the petroleum industry - Fluent in English, verbal and written Additional Information - HSE awareness and commitment to excellent safety performance - Apply quality management principles and processes as well as planning target control - Self motivated and driven team player. - Good management and teambuilding skills - Good communication skills, verbal and written - Experience of and aptitude for working in a diverse cultural environment - Prepared and willing to travel and commute Intrigued by a fascinating challenge?
