Job Description

Nurse We're one of the largest not for profit care provider in the UK, specialising in providing high quality, person-centred care for older people, in care homes and extra care housing nationwide. At OSJCT we care about our residents and we care about each other. That means you'll enjoy great career development working for an expanding organisation. Because we're a not for profit trust, we invest every penny we make in the people who live in our homes and the people who work here too. This means better quality care and lovely homes for our residents, along with competitive wages and great training and development for our people. We provide outstanding care, working closely with leading experts on dementia and elderly care. And we're currently modernising our portfolio of care homes - refurbishing our existing homes and moving into new, inspiring, contemporary care homes too. As we expand nationwide, we need more people with the right mix of skills, passion and ambition to help us grow even more. Meadowcroft offers compassionate, individualised residential, dementia and nursing care for 71 residents just a short walk from the historical market town centre of Thame. Are you excited about the opportunity of providing excellent nursing care to the elderly? As one of the largest Not for Profits Care providers in the UK specialising in providing relationship-centred care for older people in nursing, residential and independent living homes. As a charity we ensure that any revenue goes straight back into our homes for the benefit of our residents and staff who look after them. We have a deep commitment to quality and this is shown by our 2nd place in the national CQC compliance league table rating 87% of our homes good or outstanding. Meadowcroft is located in a quiet, residential street on Queens Road just a short distance from Thames town centre. The home offers compassionate, high-quality residential, dementia and nursing care for up to 71 residents in homely and comfortable surroundings. What will you be doing? You can expect a wide range of responsibilities, from developing tailored care plans, providing medicine safely to overseeing the care team; overall delivering excellence in everything you do. Working autonomously, managing a caseload of complex cases which will be challenging as well as rewarding. You will have the ability to understand and manage the complexities of the multitude of clinical and psychological factors that affect the health and well-being of our elderly residents, whilst in turn supporting their families. Our Nurses also supervise our Nurse Associates and support the care team by designating the nursing assignments, leading on clinical issues and making up the working schedules. Ensuring everyone does things the right way. What experience do you need? We believe our Registered Nurses are highly valued, combining a set of key skills and experience that are essential to delivering the quality care that allows our residents to age with dignity. The social care landscape is changing: as we live longer, we have more complex clinical needs. We are therefore looking for nurses who have the following qualities that we consider to be essential to this role: Professionalism and resilience Caring for our resident's psychological and social well-being can be challenging at times. It's during these times we expect our Nurses to continue to act in a professional manner, show determination, drive and commitment to work through the set backs. You will also be patient, understanding, empathetic, and compassionate, with a true desire to build relationships with your patients rather than them just be a number. Effective communication The ability to communicate is crucial to any healthcare role, but particularly for those working with our dementia residents. We are looking for Nurses who's verbal and written communication is clear, effective and appropriate for the situation or audience. Providing excellent care A strong commitment to providing the highest standards of care to achieve freedom of choice for our residents wherever possible. By recognising that each person is an individual, involving them in daily decisions, we believe enables them to feel control in their own life. Leading and getting the best from others We expect our Nurses to lead by example, share their own knowledge and skills and challenge poor practice to ensure our residents receive best quality of care all of the time. In addition we require you to have at least an associate degree in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and be currently registered with NMC.
