Research Nurse The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's leading providers of non-surgical cancer treatment, caring for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and parts of Lancashire. Our flagship specialist cancer hospital opening in central Liverpool in June 2020, supported by our hospital on the Clatterbridge Health Park in Wirral providing outpatient cancer treatment and supportive care and our radiotherapy treatment centre on the Aintree Hospital site. Together, working across three sites and operating specialist chemotherapy clinics in four of Merseyside's district hospitals, we are able to deliver a comprehensive range of inpatient care, advanced radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies including gene therapies and immunotherapies. We also deliver a pioneering Treatment at Home and Work service; are the only facility in the UK providing low-energy proton beam therapy to treat rare eye cancers and host the region's Teenage and Young Adult Unit, (supported by the Teenage Cancer Trust). Working with leading experts from The University of Liverpool and the Cancer Research UK Liverpool Cancer Trials Unit we strive to stay at the forefront of novel treatments and techniques to deliver more effective and personalised treatments than ever before. Permanent contract - 37.5 hours per week An existing opportunity has arisen for a permanent full time band 5 Research Nurse in the Research and Innovation department at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust. The postion advertised will be shared across two location, they are CCC Liverpoool and CCC Aintree Candidates must be a NMC level one Registered General nurse ,desirable chemotherapy qualification,although in house training will be provided, this training will be part of your induction program,ideally you would have some knowledge of research or have had some research experience. Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is the sole provider of non-surgical solid tumour oncology treatment for the Merseyside and Cheshire region. The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is one of 23 NHS trusts in the Clinical Research Network North West Coast. The post holder will be a member of the NIHR research team and will support the delivery of commercial and non-commercial cancer clinical trials . The role will include; collecting data, supporting, treating and monitoring patients in accordance to ethically approved protocols. The post holder is employed and managed by Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, employees must be aware of, and accept the requirement to work at other sites across the Clinical Network within reason. Any changes will be subject to consultation The R & I directorate is a busy environment and working to deadlines with frequent interruption is the norm. Ability to work under pressure, pay close attention to detail and organise the priority of own workload is absolutely essential. Individual training will be provided to meet the needs of the post-holder.
