We are currently looking for a Structural Engineer/Inspector to join our Structure Engineering Team based at our London office. The candidate is required to demonstrate good Structural Engineering background, understanding and experience, particularly in the inspection, design, assessment and construction of highway structures. We are looking to appoint an ambitious and motivated Structural Engineer to join our Kings Cross Office. The preferred candidate will report to the Associate Director of Structures and will be responsible for delivering bridge and structures design and assessment on a variety of projects, liaising with clients and mentoring / developing other team members. A bit about the role: * Providing technical guidance to projects * Development of conceptual design and producing engineering designs and details in accordance with project requirements * Preparation of calculations, written reports and checking of drawings * Checking of design calculations and drawings completed by other engineers * Project Management * Attending client meetings and building relationships with clients and other stakeholders * Visits to site as required * Providing input to project teams and leading by example * Mentoring and developing less experienced team members to allow them to achieve their full potential About you: * Minimum of 3 years relevant experience working in a design team environment * Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering * Chartered Engineer (or nearing Chartered status) in Civil and/or Structural Engineering * Technically strong engineer with a background in steel and concrete bridge design, including an understanding of the underlying principles behind the design codes, and a proven record leading the delivery of detailed designs of steel and concrete bridges * Adept at working within a team environment and have experience across a range of engineering structures * Self-motivated with good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills * Possess strong analytical ability and a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and current design standards * Experience of project management with a good understanding of commercial aspects of projects * Able to communicate / liaise effectively and professionally with the design team, clients and contractors The position comes with: * £34,000 - £36,000 * 25 days' annual leave + Bank Holidays * Health Care * Continuous training and development * Yearly Professional Membership of your choice * Plenty of company organised social functions
