Senior network engineer The Team: Fueling the technologies that drive our products and support our company's infrastructure, the Technology team consists of talented developers, network architects, and IT experts who help make technology one of Morningstar's core strengths. From Agile methodologies to mobile applications, to software as a service (SaaS) delivered from our private cloud, we push technology's boundaries to build scalable, elegant solutions that help investors reach their financial goals. The Role: Morningstar IT Infrastructure are looking for an experienced network engineer to join our global 3rd line team. Primarily a project orientated role you will be required to assist with escalated problem tickets and incidents. This role requires a proven track record of supporting Cisco networks in a globally diverse enterprise environment. A solid understanding of networking fundamentals and routing protocols is required. This position is based in our London office. Responsibilities: * Participate in the planning, development, and delivery of network related projects * Develop innovative and automated systems and processes to improve operational efficiency through onboarding automation technologies, programming, and/or scripting * Manage and maintain the operational integrity of Morningstar's security, global voice, and data networks * Provide new and updated documentation and knowledge articles * Respond to incidents and alerts and provide out of hours technical support as required Requirements: * At least five years of Cisco IOS and NX-OS administration experience with a proven track record in medium to large size network supporting at least 500+ (virtual or physical) servers * At least five years' experience of Cisco ASA firewall administration experience * Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and routing protocols, QoS, VoIP, BGP, and EIGRP * Experience with Cisco VPN systems (including site to site and client to site connectivity), WAN implementation and optimization technology, security standards and best practices, and network trouble shooting, packet captures, and analysis * Experience with the following would be beneficial: Bluecoat, Riverbed, F5 local & global traffic management systems, administration in VMware virtualized environments (particularly VMware View), storage systems and technologies, and Microsoft technologies (Windows networking, AD, Exchange) * CCNP or ITIL foundation certification is preferred * Excellent teamwork and organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to handle and lead multiple tasks * Strong time management skills and the ability to balance high quality work standards against time constraints * Excellent communication and documentation skills Morningstar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
