Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Tertiary Eating Disorder Specialist Service. The team is based in Coatbridge, but offers a pan-Lanarkshire service. The team is psychology lead but multi-disciplinary in nature and also includes psychiatry, nursing, dietetics, and occupational therapy. The service works directly with adults who have severe eating disorders resulting in complex needs. We also have an adapted criteria for young people (in late adolescence) to promote early intervention and to be able to offer evidence based treatments specifically relevant to this client group. The service offers innovative treatment to people living in the community wherever possible and is able to offer intensive treatment for time limited periods where required. The team also has a role to support other tiers of the NHSL Eating Disorder pathway via training, supervision, consultation and joint working. The successful candidate will contribute to the assessment, formulation and delivery of evidence based psychological treatments for people with eating disorders and their families, as part of an MDT approach. Training, consultation and supervision will also be a core part of their role. The team undertakes considerable service development work which the post holder will contribute to, in addition to service evaluation and monitoring of outcomes. Regular supervision and CPD opportunities will be available. Line management will be via the service Consultant Clinical Psychologist/team leader. The team place great emphasis on supporting and optimising effective transitions particularly from CAMHS to adult services. We would welcome applicants that have experience of working with young people with eating disorders. Likewise, interest and passion for working with adults perhaps with more severe and enduring eating difficulties often alongside considerable co-morbidity would also be enthusiastically considered. There would be some scope to configure the confinements of the post towards applicant's expertise/interests. Post-doctoral experience in the following would be highly desirable: working with people with eating disorders; multi-disciplinary working, and/or CAMHS or Adult Mental Health services.
