Location - Woodbury UnityFive Limited is a well- established, leading software development house with a market leading SAAS offering. We are looking forward to celebrating our 10th birthday next year! We're going through rapid and sustained growth - we've doubled in size in 18 months, and actively reinvesting profits to support future growth. We have fast become market leaders in our sector and are doing everything in our power to keep it that way as well as breaking into new markets. We are currently recruiting across all areas of the business. We are an Agile team (two of our Directors were devs so they get it!) in a lovely barn conversion in the countryside between Exeter and Exmouth. One of our most recent recruits described us as one of the most supportive teams they had ever worked with. Our core tech is php, python, html and CSS, however are looking for an experienced App Developer, with a solid knowledge of Andriod, additional iOS experience would be an advantage. We are excited about recruiting for an experienced backend developer. Working alongside a team of talented software developers within an Agile (Scrum) environment you will build up a detailed knowledge of the software system and business requirements displaying the ability to recommend, implement and develop cutting edge solutions. Our software is critical to our clients businesses and you will play a pivotal role in its development, always mindful of the end-user and delivering a first-class user experience. The role will encompass Writing and managing scripts in Perl and Python Excellent understanding of Object Oriented Programming concept Excellent coding skills in the following languages: Python, PHP and Perl (Java would be an advantage) Excellent Linux command line knowledge Experience writing shell scripts, with versioning control systems and knowledge of MySQL databases Understanding of agile development methodologies with the desire to improve existing processes Proactive, self-motivated and autonomous Experience with the Google Cloud Platform would be advantageous Maintaining and developing the core infrastructure of the platform. You will be designing new services and databases to implement new features. Delivery of new functionality/systems and maintenance of existing software and systems from design through to deployment/implementation and post implementation support Contribution to and compliance with the project briefs and documentation. Working to agreed deadlines and within agreed sprints. Following agile development practices, including daily scrum, planning and retros. Delivery of quality code to defined standards within the Unity5 Code guidelines Providing coaching and mentoring to less experienced developers. Working collaboratively with Support and other departments of the company to deliver the best possible user experience. Depending on experience there could be a Dev Ops element to this role too - server and database and management and optimisation.
