Clinical Pyschologist/Psychological Therapist

Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust ,
Selby, North Yorkshire

Overview

Job Description

We wish to recruit either a clinical/counselling psychologist or an accredited psychological therapist (see job description for essential and desirable requirements). The preference is for an accredited cognitive behavioural therapist but other therapies as specified by the Trust can apply. Clinicians working towards and within 6 months of accreditation in CBT or within 6 months of completion of a doctorate in clinical/counselling psychology would be considered. In this instance we would also require a supporting document from your supervisor confirming that the qualification is likely to be achieved. The Trust is committed to providing support and supervision for continuing professional development and we have an excellent track record for developing our psychology workforce. This is a new post as part of the restructuring of community mental health provision in York and Selby. Key roles would be providing assessment, formulation and direct intervention for clients, supporting staff with offering psychological approaches including supervision. It is vital that applications have had experience working within multi-disciplinary teams. The post holder would be expected to be actively involved in daily formulations so experience working with adults with complex needs is encouraged. You would work closely with the other psychologists in the team and be accountable to the team leader and the Locality Lead for Psychological Therapies. It is preferable that applicants have access to a car. We provide excellent opportunities for peer support/supervision, CPD, teaching/training, and research and audit in line with strategic developments. There are also strong links to the local Hull University and Teesside D Clin Psy Programme as well as the York St Johns Doctorate in counselling course, as we are key providers of academic and clinical experience components both in terms of teaching and supervision. Psychologists provide key leadership roles within the Trust. To support this we have developed leadership profiles for each psychology band and the profile card associated with this post is attached on NHS Jobs. You can find more information about the NHS Leadership Academy's Healthcare Leadership Model and the profiles at their website. We encourage you to look at these resources as they will play a part in the interview process.
