Job Description
Your new role Network Availability Apprentice based at our Nottingham Office. What you'll be leading on Involves p roviding dedicated support for a wide range of activities such as: * Provide general admin support to your team, such as answering the telephone, diary management, dealing with enquiries, preparing and drafting correspondence, assisting with reports & presentations. * To assist in the effective planning of network occupancy schedules and service continuity plans, ensuring that the adequate level of service is maintained for our customers and planning activities focus on optimising the network's overall availability. * To make effective use of intelligence, data and information to inform the development and coordination of occupancy schedules, severe weather and event related plans, ensuring they minimise disruption for customers, and ultimately contribute to improved customer satisfaction in the Region. * To ensure network occupancy schedules and other relevant customer information sources are updated, maintained and/or distributed to the relevant stakeholders in a timely manner, in line with agreed quality standards. * Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of a line manager or mentor which support both the achievement of personal development and delivery of business requirements. * Maintain own learning records to ensure that all necessary development activities are undertaken. To be successful Minimum of 5 GCSEs 9-4 (or equivalent), grades A* to C (new grade 4 to 9) with English and Maths at grade C/5 being two of those subjects. Or equivalent Functional Skills 120 UCAS points and / or relevant experience Ability to consistently deliver high quality customer service in a professional manner; effective listening and good verbal and written communication skills Ability to liaise with line managers in the business in order to deliver against their requirements. Problem solving skills, with ability to prioritise critical items and identify risk Be reliable and self-motivated Be a team player; continually seeking to improve and develop your own skills and the performance of the team. Job Purpose To develop the knowledge, skills and competence to follow a career in Highways England by achieving a specified Level 3 qualification and successfully operating at or above a defined baseline level of competence by the end of the training agreement. Key Accountabilities 1. Complete the defined training programme with the support of a Line Manager and with access to internal and external learning resources. 2. Maintain own learning records to ensure that all necessary development activities are undertaken. 3. Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of a line manager or mentor which support both the achievement of personal development and the delivery of business requirements. 4. Liaise regularly with the line manager on experience being gained and undertake annual appraisal, to evaluate personal development and to identify further experience needed.
