Location The position is based at our office in Stansted. Stansted is a dynamic and friendly location of 50,000 people on the Essex/Hertfordshire border, located 27 miles (43 km) northeast of central London. The Candidate The ideal candidate should have recent experience of high-speed optical data communication ICs, specifically clock and data recovery, transimpedance amplifiers and laser drivers. We would like to hear from candidates with recent experience in a design or support role of high-speed optical components or modules. The Role Senior Application Engineer Duties and Responsibilities * Provide technical leadership for new and legacy products customers. This will include 5G infrastructure, 10Gbit/s, 400Gbit/s and 800Gbit/s systems. * Interface to marketing, design and the customers to provide support for new products and support existing products. * Be the voice of the customer and an active member within in New Product Development Teams. * Provide the necessary reference designs to enable customers to implement our products successfully. * Own the delivery of customer documentation, application notes and datasheets. * Maintain customer database for all customer contact. * Visit customers for on-site problem solving and technical discussion when required in support of the field applications team. * Effective working relationships developed and maintained at all times. Required Qualifications and Experience * BSc degree in Electrical/ Electronic/ Optical Engineering with preferably a second degree in an associated field. * Proven experience in design and/or support of high-speed optical components or modules. * Demonstrated knowledge of high-speed signal integrity and board design. * Proven experience of making high-speed measurements in a lab environment on products operating at data rates of 10Gbit/s and above. * Familiarity with related optical and industry standards. * Knowledge of PCB schematic design and layout tools, especially Cadence Allegro. * Experience of HFSS an advantage. * Experienced in working with marketing and systems engineering for product definition. * Good interpersonal and communication skills. * Ability to interpret customer and lab verification results to support product design and device characterization. * Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
