Overview
Job Description
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust Regional Genetics Service, along with the Cardiothoracic Division, and Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (University of Oxford) based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford are seeking a registered nurse or qualified genetic counsellor to join our expanding Inherited Cardiac Conditions (ICC) team. The successful applicant for this position will undertake a range of genetic counsellor duties including independent genetic counsellor clinics, genetic register work, pre-natal/urgent referral work, and peripheral clinics. You must be motivated and self-directed in your learning and must be able to work autonomously and in a team. You will need good multidisciplinary working skills to be able to work effectively with medical colleagues. The successful Genetic Counsellor will have completed either a Training Post or two years of clinical practice in a regional genetics service, however recent graduates of an MSc in Genetic Counselling will also be considered Close date 24-June-2020Interview date planned 01-July-2020For further details / informal visits contact: This post is not a trainee post for the Healthcare Scientist Training Programme. Applicants must be registered, or actively working towards registration, with the Genetic Counsellor Registration Board via Set A (MSc Genetic Counselling) or Set B (NMC plus GCRB prescribed qualifications) criteria. We recognise internationally obtained MSc Genetic Counselling qualifications as per GCRB overseas agreements, providing applicants are eligible to work in the UK.
