This is an exciting opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to join the finance team at the strategic heart of the UKs fastest growing company. We are looking for a part-qualified assistant accountant who will support the financial and management reporting processes for our UK and overseas entities. In return we will support your studies towards becoming a qualified accountant. The role will be very varied, encompassing elements of reporting, accounts payable, VAT, payroll and reconciliations. You will need to have some experience in a commercial environment and already have experience of management reporting and financial controls processes. Reporting to the Finance Manager youll have regular exposure to the senior leadership team and product heads from Day 1. Key Responsibilities * Ensure that all financial records are up to date, controls and reconciliations have been completed and outstanding issues resolved * Assist in prep of mgt acts ie all accruals, prepayments * Bank reconciliations * Draft invoice approval * Expenses processing * Setting up and reviewing payments * Assist with production of management reporting, analysis and commentary for review * Provide support and back-up to the accounts payable and payments processing team within finance * Work with third party auditors as required * Produce and update procedure documentation in line with evolving business processes Requirements Must have skills * A part qualified accountant (likely studying AAT, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent) * Experience of management reporting and financial accounting for UK entities * Experience of some /all of payroll processing, accounts payable processing and reconciliation tools / processes * Strong system and data manipulation skills - we use a variety of tools and systems including Xero, NetSuite, Excel, G-Suite, SQL * Smart, a thinker who is great at solving problems (not just ones that involve numbers!) * Great communication skills and confident working with stakeholders across the business including management * Able to prioritise a long list of requests into a work plan and manage expectations accordingly * Team player: you see your work as part of the teams overall plan, and within that youre happy either driving your own objectives or supporting team members with theirs * Ownership mentality: don't just execute what's asked of you, but question whether we've asked you the right question or if it could be done a better way * Can-do attitude: Bulb is a fast-paced environment and sometimes stressful, you need to be resilient and calm under pressure Nice to have skills (but not essential) * Experience with Netsuite or Xero accounting systems Benefits * Be part of a growing technology startup and help shape the future of energy * Collaborative, flexible, and friendly environment * Competitive salary, share options, and bonus * 33 days holiday a year (including bank holidays) and the option to buy up to 5 more * 12 weeks of full pay for maternity, paternity or adoption leave * 1000 training budget + 5 days training days per year * Healthcare, life insurance, and a pension plan with employer contributions * Cycle to work scheme; activities to improve your mental & physical well being, including office yoga and meditation; monthly team socials * One month sabbatical leave after your first year * Tea, coffee, fruit and snacks throughout the day * Free breakfast on Mondays
