Job Description
About the role: Moonshot CVE is gathering ever larger and more complex datasets in our day to day work and we need to bring on a dedicated Data Manager to help us collect, organise, analyse and visualise these datasets. You will be expected to work with our analysts to explore our data, discover new insights and support analysis. You will also be responsible for capacity building for colleagues and ensuring robust and rigorous data practices are embedded across the entire organisation. Requirements * At least five years professional experience in data analysis, data visualisation, business intelligence or similar role. * Expert knowledge of relational databases, with ninja-like SQL skills * Experience organizing people and processes to maximize the value, efficiency and security of available data. * Experience collecting and adding value to data from online sources such as social media and forums * Experience building, organizing and maintaining data systems, from writing queries to building ETL processes to organizing backup and redundancy systems. * Experience visualising data and building dashboards using BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Qlik. * Demonstrated ability to translate analytical questions into data requirements, leading to successful collection, analysis and reporting. * Ability to apply data collection and analysis skills creatively to new areas of research and practice. * Ability to communicate complex data practices and methodologies to audiences at varying levels, including to staff and clients. * Experience teaching and training analysts on how to understand and interpret data. * Ability to produce high-quality work under pressure and to deadlines. * Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. * Willingness to work as part of a team and support colleagues. * A commitment to Moonshot CVEs mission and ethos. * A desire to learn about violent extremism and different methods for countering it. * In addition, we require and will check on candidates' eligibility to work in the UK and conduct DBS checks. Candidates will be expected to undertake and pass any relevant security clearance procedures per the needs of clients. Desirable qualifications and skills: * Experience organising and visualising relationships in data using tools such as Gephi, Iramuteq, or NVivo * Experience using statistical modelling and management languages, including R, Python * Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase * Experience with data collection and management in Java * Experience using cloud hosting solutions for data collection, storage and ETL (AWS, GCP) * Experience with Google AdWords, Paid Search or Online Marketing * MsC or PhD in a quantitative discipline Benefits * Individually tailored training and skills development package * 30 days paid annual leave * Private healthcare package, including coverage for partners and children * Generous maternity and paternity package.
