Clinical Nurse Specialist in Gestational Trophoblastic Disease (GTD) Charing Cross Hospital hosts the Internationally leading Choriocarcinoma Screening and Treatment Centre, one of two such centres in the UK screening and treating women with malignancies arising from a pregnancy. To find out more about GTD visit hmole-chorio.org.uk An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Specialist band 7 nurse who wants to work in this highly specialised service. You will be a registered nurse, holding or working towards a degree in cancer nursing. You will have a background in oncology and or gynaecology. It would be beneficial to have a practical knowledge of teenagers and young adults with cancer. You will be working alongside other clinical nurse specialists and as part of a close knit multidisciplinary team in the management of patients, including those aged between 16-24 years with a diagnosis of GTD and other rare gynaecological cancers. We don't expect you to be experienced in GTD. As a highly specialised rare tumour we will teach you everything you need to know. However, strong interpersonal skills are paramount as you will be providing support, education and specialist advice to patients, carers and health professionals on a range of issues relating to these rare diseases. You will also need to work independently and have excellent organisational skills in order to co-ordinate individual treatment programmes for patients throughout the country.
