Job description The role has an international tax advisory focus and would suit candidates operating at the senior manager level with financial services experience, having worked in-house and ideally with a US multinational. Reporting to Head of Tax EMEA and Senior International Tax Manager, the role is a key position in the Global tax function with the following responsibilities:. Support the business by providing UK and European direct tax advice and tax related support for a wide range of international business transactions, including M&A, joint ventures, business disposals, corporate restructurings and reorganisations, new products and markets. Assist in identifying, managing and resolving EMEA tax risks. Manage tax related discussions, negotiations and representations with Tax Authorities in relevant UK and European jurisdictions. Secure tax rulings and clearances necessary to implement global tax strategy. Assist in identifying and realising ex-US opportunities for increased tax efficiencies. Liaise with the business, functional tax specialists (e.g. VAT, UK compliance and reporting team, overseas tax colleagues), Finance and Legal to ensure tax efficient opportunities are appropriately realised, documented and maintained. Consider, implement, and document transfer pricing considerations relevant to effective tax rate management. Monitor transfer pricing requirements, review and update existing transfer pricing policies, and assist in the development of policies for new businesses, products and locations. Monitor UK and European tax legislation developments, analyse and communicate impact to the EMEA Head of Tax and Head of International Tax. Support tax group lobbying efforts. Participation and representation of BNYM's position in relevant sector association tax committees and forums Develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with external advisers, key contacts in the lines of business and business partner groups within BNYM across multiple jurisdictions. Assisting in monitoring and managing UK Bank Levy Skills requirements Tax qualified - minimum CTA/ATT or legal degree equivalent required 5-7 years post qualified experience Strong UK Tax technical background with minimum 2 years international tax experience in the financial services sector US based multinational experience preferred Strong communication and networking skills Strong analytical skills Strong team player Ability to prioritise and organise multiple on-going projects Key Competencies Managing risk Client orientation Developing strategic relationships Change Leadership Driving execution Strategic decision making
