Your working dataset is one of the richest and most exciting in the UK with a unique blend of first party data from BT and EE, which will allow you to produce incredibly impactful data products. You will use a cutting-edge platform (GCP) and toolset. Senior technical lead for Data Solutions, working closely with the product and commercial teams to understand customer needs and develop ground-breaking solutions to address those needs. Develop and deliver market leading analytical solutions and products for external clients, to drive a new revenue stream for BT. What you'll be doing + Pitching ideas, proposals and developing client relationships. + Clearly and confidently present complex analytical results in a clear and simple manner to key stakeholders and clients. + Conceptualise and develop new analytical algorithms and products using various statistical methods. + Build and deliver analytical solutions by analysing large and complex data sets using multiple technologies (BigQuery, GCP, Python, R, Spark). + Visualise and deliver analytical results in insightful, interesting and interactive ways using various technologies (Jupyter Notebooks, Leaflet, D3js, Qlik, Kibana, Tableau...). + Proactively investigate and discover new techniques, technologies and data sources to enhance BT Data Solutions capabilities. + Take part in BT Data Solutions product strategy. + Share knowledge and develop skills of other Data Scientists. We'll also need to see these on your CV Must have: + Expert in the field of Analytics, including 3 years experience as a Data Scientist + Advanced skills in Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Modelling, Algorithm Development etc. + Experience with Cloud computing on the GCP platform. SQL proficiency. + Strong experience with statistical analysis using Python (preferable) or R. + Knowledge of data visualisation fundamentals. + Ability to understand client requirements and translate them into solutions. + Strong presentation skills - an engaging presentation style that delivers and develops relationships. Nice to have: + Experience of geospatial principles and techniques. + Modelling and segmentation building. + Experience of data visualisation techniques. + Wide experience of big data technologies: cloud computing, containerisation, analytics engines (Spark, Elasticsearch). + Experience of user interface. Business / context Must have: + Demonstrable commercial experience in a technical environment. + Experience in developing senior stake holder relationship + Commercial Analytics - Experience in commercialising analytics products to external clients. + Experience in designing and building innovative data products Nice to have : + Experience in delivering location planning, transport, retail, marketing or web analytics. + Experience in commercialising analytics products to external clients Skills and knowledge: + Excellent problem solver with real curiosity and drive. + Ability to work well with a team, to collaborate ideas and contribute collectively for a common goal. + Real enthusiasm and passion to develop and deliver ground breaking tools for clients to meet business needs both for the client and for BT. + Happy to regularly take on new challenges.
