Additional offerings for various other applications are soon to follow. This is an exciting opportunity in Milton Keynes for an Electrical Mechanical Design Engineer. The Role: As an Electrical Mechanical Design Engineer you will be working on our On and Off Highway Battery Pack Programs. In short you will be responsible for all mechanical packaging and integrated components as well as the design and delivery of current carriers (E.g. High Voltage bars and traction cables). As this role is product focused you will be involved in many stages of the product life cycle and due to the nature of your responsibilities you will often be a central point of coordination and decision making between both internal and external stakeholders. Your other duties in the role will include: * Obtaining input from stakeholders such as technical managers, project leaders, other product and manufacturing engineers and supplier partners to deliver information and recommendations that lead to quality product decisions. * Applying and improving processes such as Engineering Standard Work (ESW), iDFMEA, Failure Incident Review Group (FIRG) and tools such as 7-step problem solving, design review checklist and other specialized tools required to support the processes and enable high quality decision making. * Coordinating and directing work amongst technicians and temporary student employees, assists in the transfer of knowledge to lesser experienced engineers through either indirect (scope of influence) or direct management of a small, local group of engineers. * Providing independent leadership of smaller business impact projects or ownership of complex components, products, systems or services with greater elements of ambiguity over the senior or lead engineer level and with full accountability to the project team. * Delivering independent execution of established and emerging work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge. Leading the development and improvement of work processes and systems across a functional discipline area within a business unit site. Qualifications + Skills and Experience Required: * 3 years' experience within a Design Engineering role or similar * Experience of design with high voltage components/componentry * CAD Modelling experience * Knowledge of Battery Systems * Experience in Creating, Auditing and Releasing 2D or 3D drawings Required Education, Licenses or Certifications: * Degree level qualification in a STEM subject (Or equivalent experience) Compensation and Benefits: * Basic Salary: 40,000 - 47,000 * Defined contribution pension scheme - Company contributions up to 9% * Annual Bonus Plan - Target 8% (Based upon company performance) * Private Medical Insurance * Health Cash Plan - Support towards Medical, Optical and Dental Costs * Health Screening * Life assurance * 25 days annual leave Bank/Public Holidays * Employee Discount Scheme - Covering 100's of retailers * Family Friendly Policies At Cummins, we are dedicated to diversity in the workplace and we are committed to a policy of treating all treatment because of any protected characteristic.
