Job Description

The MSS Manual Monitoring Analyst is a developing professional role within the Transaction Monitoring team. This role will focus on reviewing data for possible market abuse within a highly focused and driven team. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic data from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Applies specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analysing and/or evaluating processes and data. Interprets data and makes recommendations. Researches and interprets factual information. Identifies inconsistencies in data or results. Primary responsibilities include monitoring designated risk behaviours while adapting to and strengthening the evolving Transaction Monitoring programme. **Responsibilities:** + Assisting and supporting senior staff in the design, development, delivery and maintenance of best-in-class transaction monitoring programmes. + Carrying out and assisting with investigations, reconciliation procedures and preparing routine correspondence. + Assisting with regulatory inquiries and/or examinations + Creating and maintaining reports for control, tracking, and analysis purposes and ensuring appropriate and secure retention of documents. + Identify opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system driver changes. + Preparing, editing and maintaining programme related materials. + Interacting and working with other areas within the business, as necessary. + Assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes + Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards. + Additional duties as assigned **Qualifications:** + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive + Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization + Strong project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time + Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) + Some knowledge of compliance laws, rules, regulations, risks and typologies, **Education:** + Bachelor's degree; some experience in a financial services firm, regulatory organization, or legal/consulting firm, or a combination thereof; Advanced degree a plus ----- Grade : ----- Time Type : ----- Citi is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
