Reporting to the Category Manager you will be responsible for efficiently sourcing and procuring a portfolio of products for the business in order to create enhanced value in the finished product, thereby maximising profitability, customer service and Barfoots reputation. A dedicated and strong team player capable of supporting other members of the team as required ensuring the successful functionality of the supply chain process. Requirements * Deliver gross profitability across the product portfolio * Meet and exceed company KPIs * Source and purchase products at the lowest ultimate price whilst ensuring quality is maintained * Provide an uninterrupted flow of materials delivering on SLAs and KPIs * Have a comprehensive understanding of key factors that impact upon the supply chain, such as the ordering and clearance processes, logistic costs, stock holding and management ensuring that they are managed effectively in order to meet KPIs * Effective inventory management maintaining the optimum stock position through supplier orders that take into consideration variables such as demand forecast, yields and unexpected changes in supply, ensuring that any issues are communicated to the relevant departments * Accurate and efficient data entry and data management * Ensure suppliers are working with accurate information including forecasts and QA reports ensuring you supply them with regular feedback and performance updates * Provide a weekly crop update and maintain all other relevant documents * Manage the quality improvement and claims process ensuring it is communicated effectively to the wider business * Competent usage of the companys MRP system * Analyse suppliers performance and scorecards seeking long-term improvements * Review and adjust seasonal programs whilst ensuring that changes are communicated to the wider business * Build and maintain effective relationships with all internal and external stakeholders * Promote visibility and transparency across the supply chain ensuring you operate ethically * Engage in crop strategies and strategic business plans taking into consideration business developments, customer expectations and demands whilst aiming to increase profitability * Engage in the product development process from the initial brief through to product submissions, including sample requests * Ensure waste targets and customer standards are adhered to at all times by monitoring production and working with technical to manage the specification and the outsourcing strategy. * Providing additional support to others within the team including administrative tasks and attending meetings on their behalf on an ad hoc basis * Flexible support for occasional out of hours contact with suppliers in Latin America * Rotational Weekend Cover will be required Skills & Experience * Able to prioritise tasks and use own initiative * Experience of working within an FMCG Supply Chain * Excellent communication skills gained within in a business environment * Strong command of English Language both written & spoken * Additional language a distinct advantage (French and/or Spanish strongly desirable) * Able to remain calm under pressure * Capable of maintaining positive relationships between teams and suppliers/customers whilst maintaining a professional, dialogue * An understanding of factors that affect quality * Knowledge of stock replenishment and inventory management * Financial understanding of budgets and P&L accounts * Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, email, MRP systems and the internet Benefits Why work for Barfoots ? * Investors In People Silver Award status. * Company pension scheme * Development opportunities * Discounted leisure membership * Discounted vegetable box scheme * Cycle to work scheme * Free onsite parking * Approved training centre for Highfield qualifications. * Rapidly growing company. * Committed to Sustainability
