Over 90% of the world's radiotherapy machines contain our technology, we bring vehicles and boats to a Safe Stop, protecting people's lives, we help to prevent collisions at sea, our technology detects and deceives radar threats, and we control the kicker magnet in CERN's large hadron collider, and much, much more. **Position Summary and Responsibilities** The **Product Manager** is accountable to the Director, Product and Capability Managementas the champion of a product range within Teledyne e2v and is fundamental to the growth of the company with direct impact on profitability, revenue and reputation. The Product Manager's measures of success include profitability of the product portfolio under your control, growth against target plans and implementation and execution of strategic initiatives. The position is based in Chelmsford and extensive global travel is required. Main Accountabilities: 1. Lead relevant customer engagement (in collaboration with relevant Business Development Teams) for the identification and definition of next-generation solutions and product developments/enhancements that grow Te2v's market position. 2. Develop strategic roadmaps to address unmet user and OEM needs, highlighting new product, capabilities and service offerings that deliver profitable growth aspirations. 3. Develop and implement the 5 year product and capability strategy for specific areas of accountability that integrates all investment in an effective manner and demonstrates the expected ROI. 4. Lead the delivery of the plan above, including work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities. 5. Accountability for the New Product Introduction process from enquiry through bid to order, ensuring that all new business aligns with agreed strategy and will be a profitable use of resources. 6. Assist in the launching of new products, particularly in developing appropriate technical materials, co-ordinating with project management, engineering, purchasing, marketing, customer services and sales. 7. The Product Manager will be required to work with the Marketing & Communications Team, supported as required by the Engineering functions to produce appropriate product literature, promotional material and support for both Trade Shows and Customer Road Shows/Presentations 8. Improve customer satisfaction by representing the customer internally on deliveries, quality and returns, especially identification of root causes and implementation of appropriate corrective actions. To facilitate this objective, the product manager must balance priorities for Operations, Production, R&D and applications engineering. 9. Manage the whole product lifecycle for the products in your portfolio covering introduction, maturation, rationalisation and withdrawal. A high level of customer and commercial awareness will be required to enable value based pricing considering minimum order quantities, assumptions about development & manufacturing costs etc. At the other end of the cycle, a high level of objectivity will be required to actively bring older products to end of life. 10. Engage and motivate the respective teams in Business Development, Service Delivery, Engineering, Operations, Finance and Purchasing to successfully integrate the plan into those parts of the company and their objectives 11. Support key growth campaigns through the effective integration of new capability and developing innovative solutions to customer needs. 12. Whilst the execution of development Projects and agreed strategic initiatives will be the responsibility of specific Project Teams the Product Manager will be accountable for the P&L success of these individual projects since he/she will have had direct responsibility for their original scope. 13. The role holder is also responsible for OHSE (Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental) and must:- 1. Champion our Health and Safety standards, procedures and company rules; 2. Intervene, correct (where able to) and report all unsafe or non-compliant situations by taking action (e.g. hazard spots) and reporting near misses; 3. Demonstrate a duty of care towards those you come in contact with and work with and proactively escalate potential Health and Safety issues as and where appropriate; 4. Support and promote the e2v Safe
