Job Description
Our client a leading London hospital is looking for a Lead Pharmacist - Aseptics & QA to join their pharmacy team immediately. Role Summary As Lead Pharmacist attention to detailis paramount, you will ensure all oncology services provided follows the principles of best practice and national guidelines. Good communication skills willl be required as you will be working with other multi-disciplinary teams and you will lead, encourage and promote excellent staff morale and customer service. Role & Responsibilities * Assist the Deputy Head of Pharmacy in service development. * To act as an effective and professional role model. * As part of the pharmacy team, to provide an information-based environment for all staff, patients and relatives and to respond appropriately to requests from medical and nursing staff for information and advice about the selection and use of drug therapy * To become familiar with the drug purchasing system and stock control to ensure the best value and quality of pharmacy supplies. Liaise with the HCA buying teams and Lead Operations Technician and participate in the HCA-wide tendering process for all parenteral oncology lines. * Assist the Lead Operational Technician in the Business management of the production unit. * Assist in the planning and scheduling of income generation activities within the production unit. * Provide expert advice on the clinical aspects of aseptic production, including cytotoxics and biologicals, to pharmacy, nursing and medical staff. * Train rotational pharmacists and technicians in the production unit. * Act as a tutor for Final Releasing Courses for Technicians in Aseptics. * Ensure the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures and documentation to nationally required standards. Skills & Requirements * Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software * Good verbal and non verbal communication skills. * The ability to initiate and implement change. * Good organisational/time management Leadership skills. * Accuracy and attention to detail. * Ability to work under pressure. * Evidence of updating clinical skills / knowledge. * Customer care skills.
