Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust ,
Barnet, Greater London

Overview

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for either a newly qualified, or an experienced band 5 registered nurse on Mulberry Ward. Mulberry ward is a 23 bedded acute medical ward that specialises in Haematology. We work closely alongside the specialist team to provide the best care for patients. This often includes patients who have spinal precautions, requiring specialist moving and handling (training is provided on the ward) and those who are acutely unwell. We have a bone marrow clinic on the ward, which runs twice a week by the haematology doctors, and supported by the Haematologist Clinical Nurse Specialist. As an acute medical ward, we also look after a variety of different medical conditions, including palliative care, oncology, tissue viability, endocrinology, renal, and cardiology to name a few. It is a great opportunity to learn and to develop your career in any specialist field, and to also take advantage of working on a well-supported ward. On Mulberry Ward we are friendly, professional, caring, and supportive. We encourage all our staff to further their knowledge and their skills, and to excel in their area of interest. As a newly qualified nurse, we offer a 12 month preceptorship programme, which includes cannulation and venepuncture, intravenous study day, and career development. As an already experienced band 5, we offer further training, and courses in leadership, frailty, dementia, and tissue viability and many others. Flexible working or part time requests will be considered. Due to social distancing and Covid 19 pressures you will be contacted if successful in shortlisting with further details regarding an interview. We will use Zoom and similar tools to conduct testing and interviews. Due to the challenging times we are experiencing you may be asked to go to different departments and work under difficult circumstances.
